Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Have had a lot of great times with this, but unfortunately, competitive games don't have a lot of successes with the girlfriend. Video Game theme is a miss for her

Locations with Victory Points. Characters on locations. Characters have power stats. Characters can be moved to different locations. Characters are selected and come with their own decks that are put together at the start of the game. Some cards are stronger than others, the strongest are only a few...my god. This is literally Smash Up. But with a weaker theme and way less identification potential. Unfortunately a pass.

2021-10: The game I wanted For Glory to be. This one plays so reminiscent of Warhammer Conquest with excellent character personality and simple mechanics. I have not yet played this one multiplayer but I am very excited to do so. I just love shuffle building games and this one gives me a slight MOBA feel while doing it. It doesn't hurt that my wife took to it unusually quickly for a head to head card game. She credits the simple mechanics and clear presentation. Couldn't agree more.
