7/22: Still enjoy this game. Elegant, fun, tactile, strategic. 1/18: Great, elegant game with simple rules but plenty of depth. A true pleasure of an abstract game with gorgeous, pleasing components. I also have the joker tiles and I am eager to give them a try. It was a must-have from the first runthrough I saw and after three plays, I'm happy to say my initial impression was correct. The length is perfect; the game ends at just the right time. Potential future 10.

It’s easy to see why this game is so popular. It is quick to learn however has a depth to the strategy that slowly unfolds the more games you play. There are various strategies that can be employed and dependant on how the game plays out, a single strategy doesn’t always work for every game. This game plays really well at all player counts and with a wide audience from 6 years old and up. Very addictive and very enjoyable.

A really nice gateway game. By "nice" I mean that it is easily accessible for everyone, but not deep enough nor variable enough for long term sustainability. I much prefer Sagrada to this, but that doesn't mean I don't like Azul. I just think it's overhyped, and that clouds my opinion of it when I play.
