Twilight Imperium (Fourth Edition) is a game of galactic conquest in which three to six players take on the role of one of seventeen factions vying for galactic domination through military might, political maneuvering, and economic bargaining. Every faction offers a completely different play experience, but only one may sit upon the throne of Mecatol Rex as the new masters of the galaxy.

Very very good game. Similar to base game of 3rd edition with balance problems fixed. A couple of negatives preventing it from getting a 10: Only 6 players Distant suns is needed to make beginning of game more interesting and not just about grabbing planets as quickly as possible. Needs more aggressive public objectives to avoid possibility of turtling. Missing the diversity of 3rd with all expansions. Still a very very good game.

Played it once, the rules take forever to go over (At least the person explaining them took a long time). Was never really sure if I was accomplishing anything at any one particular time. There seemed to be too much to analyze and due to the long playtime nature of the game, it was hard to stay focus on a few certain goals. Willing to play again to improve my first impression of it as many people seem to enjoy it.

Arguably one of the deepest, most complex games, to ever be published, Twilight Imperium is a fantastic game with tons of replayability where the only downfall is just how complex the game is. Trying to explain the rules to a new group of players is daunting, and you really need to set at least an entire day to the side to enjoy the game.
