Stardew Valley: The Board Game
45m - 200m
1 - 4 Players
Ages 13+
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Def could use some tweaks to improve how hard it is. Solo is very difficult, and overall the balance is rough. Many random aspects can make the game almost impossible to win.

Played once. Won once. 100% win rate. Game is a luckfest dumpster fire. Broken, disaster of a game. May as well assume I will never win a lottery, get struck by lightning, or get bit by a shark for the rest of my life with the amount of life luck expended to win. Uninstalled the video game on Steam. I never want to see this IP for the rest of my life.

I'm so glad I was able to get a copy!!! Normally I don't enjoy co-op games very much, but I'm such a fan of Stardew Valley that I had to try it, and I'm very glad that I did!! As a fan of the video game, I think it really adds to the enjoyment of the board game, as each item/character/resource is part of the video game, so it's exciting when they come up! There are a few small things that are slightly disappointing, such as epic items coming out so late that you don't really get to use/enjoy them (understandable, due to how powerful they are, but ultimately slightly disappointing??) and also that occasionally there are events that do nothing for you because you don't have something (such as the one where you need the wizard as a friend, or need to have animals, things like that). But honestly, overall, a really enjoyable game!! I love to play a "2 player" solo game, instead of the basic solo game.
