Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

This is where my interest in this game ends. . . I was going to roll with Spider-Ham but can't do this. You will get me back FFG when you decide to do a Sub-Mariner deck (and/or Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, Fantastic 4).

SP//dr is just cool - making the tiny hand size work, building out 14 hp as a sort of subset of heroes (Even though it's another semi-clunky clearly retroactive fix to the game), having a two card identity as you jump in and out of the suit. SP//dr also plays in the "slowly build the suit" design like Iron Man, which is an interesting crossover with the Spider-Man style of play, which gives it a unique identity. The pre-built deck works very well and includes a number of really interesting protection cards (repurpose in particular) though the overall power level may be tuned a bit high (A rarity for a small hand-size hero!). The encounter set continues this cycle's theme of a really beefy encounter set you can mix in. Overall, I think I prefer more player cards, but variety is nice.

Marvel Champions is a fantastic co-op card game set in the Marvel Universe. As a Living Card Game, it thrives on new releases: there are hero packs with new characters and player cards, and scenario packs with new villains and other challenges. This Hero pack introduces an obscure and uninspiring hero and a bunch of new player cards. Definitely not sure it was needed...
