Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

It's basically a streamlined, shorter version of regular TtR. I like it more than NY because of the set collection element. There is no need to own this if you have any version of regular TtR as there is not really a lot of differentiation with this version, but the smaller form factor is appreciated here as this is the better game to take on trips or put in a backpack. Gives you that TtR experience in 20-30 min.

Simple. New gimmick=tokens They look good and worth, but you only get so many turns so be careful! Mini ticket to ride is too short for my TTR taste, hence the 6 range.

These "TTR lite" versions are great except they keep making them and are basically all the same. TTR SF is 90% the same as the others except there's a small set collection aspect now. Does this really warrant an entirely new game? I mean, having it set in SF is neat but doesn't really change anything either. In a vacuum, this game works quite well and I don't have that much to complain about. However, there's no reason to own more than one of the "lite" versions.
