Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.
Simultaneous Action Selection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

Its a tile placement game with a lazy suzan. Fun but nothing really excited me. I wasnt able to play the other boards wich may add more flavor but other tile placement games fit the bill.

Solid polyomino game. I like the puzzle, and there are clever mechanisms here (competing over a goal with your neighbor).
4Corners
Very light and quick polyomino game with a neat new gimmick (central lazy susan) and seems to appeal to a broad audience. The goal of the game is score the most points and this is accomplished in a few ways, but primarily by filling up your planet with tiles (rows and columns) and moving up your tech track. Each turn you turn the lazy susan, select one of the 2 tiles on offer, and then need to fit this tile on your board (there are some limitations and obstacles to think about as well as which tile goes well with your tech track strategy and the goal cards which are in each game). Once a player cannot place a tile or a stack runs out the game ends. The game plays very quick and there is some nice variety with the player tech tracks. A mix of good and somewhat flimsy components, seems to scale very well and should be able to be quite expandable. Decent for what it is.
