A very pleasant filler. This is a set collection game in which you try to determine which tulips will be most valuable and collect them in your own tableau. The Gift of Tulips has an interesting interpretation of "take that." You actually give tulips to your opponents. By giving them valuable tulips, you get points. You are forced to think very carefully about your gifts. There is also a tension of increasing the value of the tulips. You can contribute tulips to the general market either publicly or hidden. Since only 5 hidden tulips are drawn, you are quite sure if your hidden tulips will contribute to their value. Lots to think about. Every decision is meaningful in a game with very low rules overhead. Can't wait to receive my Kickstarter copy.

The game gets more exciting in the latter half as players start to play to adjust the ranking more often. The first half of the game is important however to set yourself (and/or others) up for the final half of the game when players are starting to look more at majorities instead of immediate points from gifting a tulip.

Multiplayer fillers are kind of hard to come by. Gift of Tulips is closest to Biblios. You draft cards one-by-one and assign them to one of four places: yourself where it acts as a share, to an opponent where it gives them a share (but gives you immediate points), to the festival which acts as a shifting stock market, or to a secret festival which will be added to the main festival at the end of the game to shift the stock market one more time. Players earn points based on majorities in each of the stocks based on where they land in value relative to one another. It's cool. Less deft than something like Biblios, but on the other hand, nearly all of the game state is public. I like it.
