An ok detective case style game, but some bad localisation issues with some of the information - better if you’re in the US I’d say, but not so good for UK - can’t really recommend as there are better options in the excellent EXIT series, albeit in a slightly different vein.

SPOILERS INSIDE!!! -> Honestly, there is just so much wrong with this case, my god. After Adlerstein - which was great - Antarktis Fatale now was a real letdown. The characters were all bland beyond belief. Carbon copies of people you have heard before in other games, novels or movies, but without any detail or grip. Just dull and shallow shells. Also, according to the explanatory resolution, every one of them should have a reasonable motive, which is absolute bollocks. Envy? Fine with me. But being an esteemed scientist having some other scientist talking smack about my work? Never in a million years. If someone does that, you simply change your workplace. Other universities or research facilities will take you with flying colours. Also most digital riddles were a total joke, like calling a phone number from a WhatsApp chat history or logging into a imaginary mail account of an unfamiliar, imaginary person. I mean...come on. Who comes up with the idea of doing that? Are you serious? The website is fine and I also gift you the finding of the Instagram account and picture. But the rest? No f-ing way. What takes the cake though are the pieces of evidence that one should be able to find from the materials inside. There are satellite pictures in here that have a resolution weaker than my old Sony Ericsson C905 from 2008, but you should be able to make out exact timings, shadows, different objects, etc. and all make sense out of it. Also finding specific numbers from four tiny labeled A4-pages of recipes...guys, please stop the madness. This case was weak, weak, weak and I cannot confirm the recommendations of other people or reviewers AT ALL. Please don't buy this game. And if you do, play it with 10 people so that maybe one out of them has the right idea at some point. Maybe.

Wow this is what a murder mystery box should be like. All the components were very realistic and for the most part, either had relevance to the crime or a suspect’s alibi (unlike Harmony Ashcroft where there were a bit too many red herrings). There are also several surprises which I won’t spoil here that really made the detective experience feel immersive. The online hint system is also pretty good but I’d recommend avoiding it unless you’re completely stuck.
