Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

Bastante familiar. Accesible a todo el mundo. Duración corta.

Cactus Town by @secondgategames is an asymmetrical western game where each player has their own unique objective to accomplish! In the game, you’ll place 3 out of your 4 cards in front of you in the order you’d like them to activate. On your turn, you’ll choose an action on the leftmost unactivated card, moving your standees around the map, aiming to accomplish your individual goal. You’ll also get to Duel other players, rolling a 6 sided die and potentially adding your 4th card’s “second shot” number to your roll. If you win, you’ll either stun or push your opponents (depending on the character they’re playing) It’s a very interesting game as all 4 factions work in tandem with one another to create a challenge for each other. For instance, the sheriffs needs to capture 2/3 outlaws and as the bounty hunters also need to capture 1, there can be a situation where they get in each other’s way, helping the outlaws escape so that they can be the ones to get the win, especially if 1 outlaw has already escaped. This allows some players to facilitate conflict amongst the others so that they can get an unobstructed path to winning! As all 4 factions have different goals, the game is pretty replayable, especially since the map is also randomly created every game! What’s more, there’s also a variant where every building has an ability that you can use when you enter the building or when you flip it face up, adding even more to the game As Duels are an important part of the game though, you may not enjoy this game if you dislike luck as the dice plays a large role in whether you succeed or fail. But if you don’t mind that, Cactus Town is a pretty great game to check out! Originally posted on https://www.instagram.com/p/Czgj9JzyOKB/
