Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

Initial thoughts...really annoying to face Bullseye and he can hit you from 2/3 of the board away! Daredevil was a pain to fight. He won't sit still and let me hit him! Elektra was a little meh although I won with her. Like the items on the board. Nice change up that can benefit even if playing with an older character. Last played Q2 2022

very simple set up and game play but manages to capture the feel of the characters and provides gameplay for entry to advanced level play. made more appealing than other marvel mini combat games as you can mix and match sets and intellectual property. instantly ran out and bought jurassic park and Buffy unmatched sets after playing this. minis also are super simple to paint and look great painted. bullseye was just black primer and some white touch up, the rest werent much harder. the T-Rex looks siiiiiick after a couple quick passes with the airbrush. if I had to complain, I would mention that the rules can allow for some ganging up, that may be on me learning to not move into a bad spot or may require some simple house rules about players not attacking same character 2x in row or something. I find it a bit annoying that both sides of the map are the same, but one is for color impaired vision. I find the impaired vision easier to play on with my perfect vision, I wish they just gave you 2 different maps. also, now that ive seen more sets, I notice a lot of characters have similar card abilities in their decks, but that doesnt take away from this set as a stand alone.

I enjoyed Elektra's ability to conintue playing as "The Hand" and add her discard pile back into her main deck. Did not record my first play. Second play was January 2024 at TantrumCon in Charlotte, NC.
