Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

It's a unique game, that could be fun to play through and my complaints are A) the rulebook is really hard to track (and the publisher's how to play videos are reaaaaaaaaaally long, could be more concise) - once you know how to play it's pretty straightforward though, and B) it feels too long (30 minutes too long).

I wanted to like this more, but it just feels like such a slog. The two phases are basically two separate games, they just don't feel connected enough by any means. It takes so long to be able to do anything of consequence with your minions, so the game just takes too long.
Meat Robot
Totally unique game. I’ve never played anything else like it. It’s easy to learn, hard to master, and the strategy is quite deep. Looking forward to adding this to my collection.
