Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

Beautiful game! same series as Ganesha with a similar feeling. A bit more depth with the choices you make since they will directly affect others. Nice abstract game!

I have updated my ranking from 7 to 8 after repeated plays. The biggest difficulty in this game is knowing (at a glance) exactly how each spell works, and then knowing how to create patterns that exploit those spells. It takes several plays before this becomes second nature, at which time it is a delightful tug of war between players. Unfortunately, until you reach that point, the game seems a bit random. It's in the "thinky filler" category of games: just light enough to be a quick play, but thinky enough that you need to consider every move. Solo game is a nice touch but is not really like playing against a real player. I prefer my own solo bot.

Review: Looks like a kids game but it is not. This is a very strategic game and much more interesting than I expected. I love the theme of the Winter Queen, I've been a Turkish Delight eating Snow Queen reading fan of that fairy tale long before Elsa entered the scene. The gems are so pretty on the board. Definitely a welcome addition to my collection.
