Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

I agree with other reviewers that said playing 1 map at a time is best instead of all 3 in one sitting because then it does go a bit long, but the game play itself is fun, and the art is great! Only slightly more depth than the average roll and write. The quests are a fun little addition. If you want a little adventuring in a small package, this is a great game.

the core conceit of an epic roll&wright that you can play over 3 separate sessions, leveling up all the way, is very cool, and the gameplay is nice, but not quite as combo-tastic as we're used to in R&Ws

Fun, but way too long for that sort of game. Hard to catch the leading player. Maybe good for solo, haven't tried yet.
