The Campaign/Battle Card Driven mechanic is a relatively recent development in war games that focuses the players' actions on cards they have in their hand. The very basic idea is that performing a single action uses a single card. Games where cards are used to determine the outcome of battles do not use this mechanic.
Campaign / Battle Card Driven
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Played once and came to conclusion that “house rules” are needed in several aspects of the game. It’s not bad but head scratching at times. There was some potential but creator(s) didn’t correct some obvious shortcomings.

The concept of this game is great and it does a great job of introducing RPG concepts to board gamers. It's made several of my board game mates suddenly take an interest in my weekly D&D game. Which is great as I could always use more RPG players, lol. Apart from that it stands up on its own and is enjoyable to play. Aside from a couple of cards with some wording concerns I would easily recommend this game as it is quickly becoming a favorite on gaming night... largely because it is quicker to play and setup than Gloomhaven.
