Similar to the Adventure Games, players explore a mansion and interact with the people and places in it by looking up passages in the different character books. It was pretty fun, but we missed one thing that meant a section was unavailable to us. It wasn't crucial to finish the game but affected the score and it was a little frustrating to not be able to go back.

A terrific escape room game that will appeal to fans of the original series and the younger set that knows the characters from Mystery, Inc. The puzzles managed to hit a sweet spot- simple enough to keep the kids involved and challenging enough to keep the adults entertained. $25 and a couple of hours well spent. Edit: We reset the game and gave it to friends, who also gave a positive review.

I enjoyed the theme and story. I felt lost with some of the puzzles. The rules punish your score for trying things even though the rules encourage you to try everything saying that there is no penalty. There is a misprint in the rulebook that renders a puzzle unsolvable if you missed something earlier in the game.
