Century: Golem Edition – An Endless World
30m - 45m
2 - 4 Players
Ages 8+
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

1 play / 4 players LIKE: Fun game of engine building and trying to work out how to use the worker placement spots. Light, quick. There is some minor interaction, where players can bump each other out of worker spots, open up new worker spots, or a race for grabbing cards. DISLIKE: The cards come out randomly, so collecting sets to satisfy point tiles is fairly random. I recommend grabbing the bonus tiles later. OVERALL: I enjoyed this, as much as Century Spice Road. I'm not very good at it, because it takes a play or two to see the nuances and tempo. I think getting more workers is not as advantageous as one thinks, as a player can block themselves. Similar games: Century Spice Road

Century: Golem Edition - An Endless World, is one of the most simplistic worker placement games around. But, the magic behind the Century Trilogy is mixing and matching all 3 games. If you own all 3 games then effectively you have the rulesets and components for 7 different games, all of which are good. They become a great set of games to own. The Spice trilogy and the Golem trilogy are effectively identical except for the components and artwork. Of which I prefer the Golem themed games.
