Plague Inc.: The Board Game
60m - 60m
1 - 4 Players
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.
Take That
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Rating based on one solo play so far. An interesting game that is faithful to the digital adaption. AI trait mechanism felt a bit overpowered coupled with the higher scoring rules made it feel like the player was at a serious disadvantage. Will have to give it additional plays at some point to explore more, but not in any particular hurry.

Posted: 12/5/16, Rated: 7 It was the summer of 2013 when my sons introduced me to [thing=130279][/thing]. I was completely absorbed by the game, experiencing a dark thrill each time that I wiped out humanity with my gruesome, infectious charms. When I saw that it was being developed as a board game, I gleefully Kickstarted it.

I really love this board game and the PC version too! I think it's a board game that everyone needs to play at least once in their life! :)
