The Campaign/Battle Card Driven mechanic is a relatively recent development in war games that focuses the players' actions on cards they have in their hand. The very basic idea is that performing a single action uses a single card. Games where cards are used to determine the outcome of battles do not use this mechanic.
Campaign / Battle Card Driven
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

First off, I really like the niche of this game. Historical wargame which doesn't feel like a wargame. High production value, small size and awesome look. However there are some rough edges. The luck component is non-negliable existent - from card draws to unmitigated dice rolling. With more plays, more experience comes and more knowledge of the cards which neglects the card-based component in some way. Also the short playtime helps to deal with unlucky round. However, furthermore, there are some unintuitive rules with sometime non-optimal translated rules which kind of the biggest bummer for me.

Faultless horizon, flattish sea Wet shore, wide plain, look west. Another triumph from Yasushi Nakaguro

Fast and easy to learn, but with a lots of different strategy to follow. Perfect for a couple of history lovers.
