Set & Match is the unique tennis game, recreating the sensations of a tennis game away from the court. The game mainly follows the rules of the game of tennis.
Set & Match is a game of flicking. The board represents a tennis court, and players play with a ball pawn.
On their turn, a player flicks the ball to the other side of the “net” and tries to make it reach areas that gives the most “pts”. If a player scores enough “pts”, they win the point.
Points are scored as in a tennis game. The game ends when a player reaches the number of sets / games that was defined at the beginning of the game.

[February 2020] A really cool implementation of tabletop tennis. The discs flow nicely on the board and you have to flick them with precision. It resembles tennis pretty well. When in the market for a two player flicking game, this is an absolute recommendation.

This game is an UGO (unidentified gaming object) that made its little buzz in the new talents part of the Cannes 2019 International Board Gaming Convention. It was a very good surprise from the Con and a personal favorite because it is so simple and effective for a flicking game. Played with 2 players to simulate a tennis singles and 4 players for doubles (you need to allow more space on the table in this case). Quick description of the game: A flicking game that applies the real rules of tennis but adding three essential elements: - A simulation of the tennis exchange by a "string pulling" system ranging from -3, -2, -1, -1, 0, +1, +2, +3, reaching the +3 or -3 gives the winning point, - A striking zone logic with exchange points (from 0 to 3), - A bonus of +1 exchange point for cross hits from one lane to another on the field. Otherwise it's the rules of tennis: - the scoring system for games, sets, and matches is the same as in tennis, - if the flicking disc representing the tennis ball is out of bounds, then the point is awarded to the opponent (a black marker in the center of the ball allows any dispute to be resolved by observing the field from above), - two zones per service square allow you to score aces (probably the hardest shots in the game). To shorten the time, Set&Match is played in two winning sets with 3 winning games instead of the six conventional ones. Game review: On this type of game, I especially want to rediscover the sensations of tennis and for the moment I am really like a child on a tennis court. We imagine playing games and pretending to be Djokovic or Federer. The striking zone system associated with the exchange simulation mechanism is simple but so fluid that you want to come back often, just to play a few games. Replayability is strong because there is a real dexterity learning curve (especially for services, we grant three services instead of the two regulatory ones for a beginner because it can be frustrating when starting a game). A little game to add to any good coffee in addition to the traditional foosball table to take a break in a different way!
