Great game - easy to teach, easy to play, good balance between luck and strategy, and travel friendly. It's always fun to see what building combinations people put together, and there seems to be quite a few different high-point strategies to go for.

Town Builder: Coevorden by @firstfishgames is an open drafting game where you compete to be the best town builder in the city of Coevorden! In the game, you’ll take turns taking 2 actions which range from taking a card from the centre as a foundation, for its resources, or to store it as gold. If taken as a foundation, the card will be turned to its side, with its resource requirements facing up. Cards taken for their resources are then tucked underneath the foundation card and when the requirements are met, the card is turned upright and it’ll be considered built Depending on the card, they may have abilities that’ll activate upon being built, an end game scoring requirement, or a “Star” ability. Players will be able to activate 1 Star ability that they have each turn so having too many of them may not be the most effective! There are also Judges and Awards that’ll provide players with points if they meet the requirements, providing additional avenues where players can gain the upper hand. Once the deck is depleted a number of times depending on the number of players, the game will end We really enjoyed the multiple uses for each card, allowing you to balance taking cards to build them vs. using them as resources. You’ll also be able to hate draft as you may use a card your opponent needs as a resource even if you do not want to build it. But this may backfire as resource cards are discarded when the building is built, putting it back in circulation when the discard pile is reshuffled The game is easy to pick up and play as you just have to focus on your 2 actions and building up your mini-engine is quite satisfying! As Judges are revealed slowly during the game, this creates a tension as players invest in different types of buildings to keep their options open! Town Builder: Coevorden is a game that you can easily table and is great as a filler game! It’s going to stay in our collection to cap of the night during a 4 player game night! A gentle game which is beautifully illustrated. Town Builder: Coevorden is a simple game that ends rather abruptly unless you are paying careful attention. It leans a little too far in the light weight direction but its simplicity is a welcome break from the heavier games I usually prefer. The solo variant is very enjoyable.
