Letter Tycoon
30m
2 - 5 Players
Ages 8+
In-game money is bet on different commodities in hope that that particular commodity will become the most valuable as the game progresses. Often the values of the commodities are continually changing throughout the game, and the players buy and sell the commodities to make money off of their investment.
Commodity Speculation
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management

Caballosser
Has the same drawback as paperback: AP prone and you can only start thinking about your next word when your opponent(s) are finished, because of the common letters.

The letter patents in this one was the feature that sets it apart, and I hoped my regular gaming partner (who is not a huge fan of word games) would be into this one, but it didn't cut the mustard for him. Still, it does do something unique and I think there are plenty out there who will dig that.

Played on BGA. No way to mitigate terrible letter draws, so when you're stuck with a handful of vowels and a couple of difficult consonants on the board, there's nothing you can do about it. Throw this one in the trash and get Hardback (or Paperback) instead, where you can at least forfeit the card's benefit to use it as a wild if needed, or draw more letters with ink. Letter Tycoon provides no way to do that, so if you're trapped making 3-letter words you are forever imprisoned in an endless cycle where you never earn money so can never buy patents which means you never earn money, while watching your opponents rake in the cash. #LetterL #Wordy #BGA
