Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.

I think the designer and publish did an A+ job at making a C- game. But I don't think they were trying to make an A+ game. So it you are looking for a very casual, simple, fast, area enclosure game it is good. I actually want to play this again. But I hard a hard time rating it higher since it is rare that I and other folks are in the mood for this.

This was one of my most anticipated games of 2018. Didn’t live up to he hype. Choices seemed kind of obvious. Barabarian scoring was not elegant. Game looks ugly (which usually I don’t care about, but I will comment if it bothers me enough).

A decent bingo-style game. The puzzle is fun, but it becomes too easy and boring when everyone uses the same map. Something is missing, like some moving piece or unknown danger that you have to risk something for. Interactions are missing too. Maybe passing obstacles around or sending other challenges/opportunities around. Game length is good, but it makes the scoring system have a bunch of flaws that makes it pretty boring score-wise.
