Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

My first and single play was a real disappointment for me, as I love the illustrations and the theme of the game, but when I played I couldn't get anything going, my species went extinct or obsolete almost immediately. According to the other players the weather was also a bit funky (extremely cold throughout play), which did not facilitate things. This is a game that demands experience and knowledge of the deck, and I can see the potential, but I'm not swayed enough to buy and give it a fair shake.

What a cool concept! Simple and fun mechanisms of evolving your species' but this game really captured the theme incredibly well! You've got to stay ahead and keep evolving or you'll become irrelevant and go extinct.

This was great, but then I feel that over many plays we've learned the balance still isn't there. The climate addition does improve the base game, but I'd like to play v3 after some more serious optimization was done.
