Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.

Misty Game A very light, short game that I feel is a fun, hilarious introductory game for people into gaming. No crazy strategy or tactics needed. That being said, there isn't alot of depth, but it is pretty fun adapting to the attacks made by others. I think this version of space attack improves on the previous installments.

Very enjoyable sequel to the classic aggressive family game. This features a couple of twists on the original design, including fighters and turrets which allow you to nail monsters and re-deploy them wherever you want on your turn. The core is the same but the sci-fi theme and new wrinkles make this a somewhat different game. -------------------------------------- Full review: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/1493755/massaging-classic

This is perhaps objectively a better game than regular "Survive: Escape from Atlantis", but to me, Atlantis just had the superior theme and is therefore much easier to introduce various people to. Have a look at my comments for Atlantis, as the two games are almost identical, although this Space edition has a few more cool mechanics such as laser turrets and single spaceships etc.
