Love the vibrant colors and awesome clear building pieces. Easy game play and quick to learn. I love the abstract planning and card management. Definitely a keeper!
Jmccue
A simple tile-laying, "city building" game. It is a nice little game in a full size box with nicely produced pieces. More of an abstract game than anything. Not bad, but can't see it staying in the collection forever. Will play more then pass it along or scrap it for parts. Certainly underrated at 12,000, but not a world-beater either. Picked it up for $6, so well worth a few plays. + Simple to play, easy to teach + Stands out on the table, nice presence - Rulebook isn't great, some unclear rules, no player aids - Color scheme and graphic design choices are odd - Some logical oddities, like you don't earn more points for building larger buildings (i.e. high density blocks)
Alaena
A good game marred by a bad rulebook. Easy to play after learning how to play from rereading the rulebook and watching several videos. Has more depth beneath the layers of cards than it would seem. It can be a light card placing game, but you can pull out some high-point turns with good strategy and a bit of luck. Lowered from 8.5 to 6.5 - game components are nice but the color scheme adds difficulty and deters from playing.
