Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management

Into the pit: one of the best; great balance between fighting and questing. Wins/losses: 4/1 The seventh level: resembles "into the pit" a lot, might be slightly less epic. Wins/losses: 3/0 Flight from Moria: Although many people find this quest too random, I like it a lot. True, you need quite some luck to get through this, but that can't spoil the fun for me. Wins/losses: 1/1

The most thematic quests from the beginning of this production. I always play it with Howard Shore's music in the background :) . The dwarven deck rules! Some secret combos become unveiled...

Finally getting back around to going through the Dwarrowdelf cycle of the LOTR LCG. Played twice (2 decks, solo) with the first scenario. I will update this listing as I play the other ones. I created a new deck using a lot of the new cards (Boromir/Eowyn/Bifur) and it is really doing well. I think I need to further tweak my other deck. Dwarves are the focus here and there are plenty of cards revolving around them. Into the Pit 1-4 so far. First game I drew 4 locations in a row and couldn't get my Questing high enough to get any progress on the Gate card. 2nd game went much better. I got to the last card with 8 progress tokens on it but Threat got to 50 on my Aragorn/Denethor/Beravor deck. EDIT: On 4/26/17 I completely changed out my old Aragorn/Denethor/Beravor deck for a Aragorn/Dain/Bifur deck. On my 5th play, I won. Both decks were at 49 Threat, but I pulled it off! Probably the hardest quest of any that I have played. But oohhhhh so much fun. Rating: 9.5 The Seventh Level 1-0. I blasted through this is 4 turns with my old school Eowyn/Dwalin/Boromir deck and my new and improved Aragorn/Dain/Bifur deck. This one just seemed too easy. I am sure I got lucky with my card draws. But yeah, probably will skip this one when and if I play through these again. Rating: 7.50 Escape from Moria 1-0. Another quest I flew through to victory with my 2 decks. I KNOW I got lucky in this one. The first 2A Quest card I finished gave me the abandoned Tools. The next 2A card was Hasty Council, which lets you pick the next 2 Quest cards and put one out. I drew the Quest that lets you win the game by digging out with the Abandoned Tools. I can see this being tricky with the Nameless Fear building up Threat in the Staging area. I will play this one again, soon. Rating: 9.0
