Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Interesting Ambush mechanism that is great from a thematic standpoint. Be prepared for lots of enemies. Can be pretty swingy. If you get lots of locations and treachery cards as hidden cards, you might cruse to an early victory. This is probably the biggest mark against the scenario and what holds it back from greatness. The final stage can provide some tension (hidden cards aren't revealed until you have 5), but usually it just provides enough relief for you to finish the scenario comfortably. Easier for solo as you still get access to both Faramir and Lord Alcaron (two free allies!).

Some of the more obnoxious encounter sets from the deluxe make their way into the final two quests, which is problematic, though this isn't nearly as unfair feeling as Into Ithilien or Cair Andross. Caldara is fun and interesting to build mono-Spirit around and it provides some good trap (and dwarf?) support cards as well. Certainly a decent AP, but not a great one.

Lot of good player cards. The Caldara hero is useful. Tough quest, but the hidden card mechanic is unique. Not my favorite quest of the cycle but at least somewhat enjoyable. Quest is slightly harder than the 6 Difficulty rating.
