Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

HEROES Hawkeye plays differently than an "assemble your kit" hero like Iron Man. You are looking for the right tools for the right situation (the arrows), and then using your quiver, holding them for the best possible moment. The arrows are powerful and thematic, but the alter-ego power is a set-up power, and he has low HP and REC, so tough hero for solo. Spider-Woman is Fine. Powerful, but lacks personality in her kit. VILLAINS :star::star::nostar::nostar::nostar: Crossbones is tough. His first scheme is 3 threat, which is a short fuse for solo, so he basically has two powerful weapons early in the game. I find that he is tough, but not that interesting to play against. He just gets weapons to boost how he attacks, and you figure out ways to deal with it. Easy to stun lock, but that is a boring approach. Good, and Madame Hydra is brutal. :star::star::nostar::nostar::nostar: Absorbing Man is Good: Environment-based villain is cool. Wish it was even better. :star::star::star::nostar::nostar: Taskmaster :star::star::star::nostar::nostar: Zola pumps out mutant monsters and retaliates - chip-away decks won’t work. :star::star::star::star::nostar: Red Skull feels more thematic, and jusggling his side scheme spam is tough but fun. Expansion for the Rise of Red Skull. This expansion introduced a Campaign mode, adds 5 new villains (Crossbones, Absorbing Man, Taskmaster, Zola, and Red Skull) , and 2 new Heroes (Hawkeye and Spider Woman). Same rating as base game.

So the whole campaign aspect falls a little flat to me. But I think this is a must-buy just for the extra villains it gives you. It's nice having more than Rhino and Ultron to fight. It really helps expand the replayability even if the campaign isn't a home run.
