It does not live up to the Dragonomicon. While adding interesting lore, it provides few rules, but rather a series of suggestions on how to incorporate these ideas. The new dragons are very interesting, but the book is ordered so strange. Due to creature stat blocks in the appendix (as I know the majority of people prefer) we are introduced to the dragons' lairs before actually learning about the dragons themselves. Many dragon lair maps are skipped and we are told they are similar to another type of dragon. I would have liked the old dragons to have been reprinted here, so we could use it as a one-stop Dragon stop, rather than needing both this and the Monster Manual for Dragons. Not bad... but certainly not what I had hoped it would be.
