Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.
Press your Luck
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Played this one at a friends at the 4p count. It was lighter than I expected but the components and art are amazing. Maybe its not apparent on a single play but I wish there were more dominant strategies other than building out the same scenes. I am also not sure how much push your luck element there is at 2p since you would wait for them all to be revealed. Played this again but with two players and was a little more disappointed. At two indoor really feel like you have much autonomy or decisions to make. First player takes the cards the want your left with the rest. The bonus tiles are handed up with plenty left to get another one. The cards you get are placed right side up or down depending on if you can paint it or not, which is never a choice since you either meet the conditions or you don't. You'll often turn enough cards upside down to paint everything with enough brushes you never need to move them. The winner is more or less luck or how many times they went first to paint more cards. It was a lot more interesting at 4p since you actually had decisions on the card draft. However the rest of the game was similar and so light as to not have many choices. The components are excellent and it is very pretty but I would probably say this is filler lite.

The art sucks in that it's pretty but looks nothing like Ukiyo-e nor even Japanese ink paintings or rinpa. The gameplay is pretty good though.
