Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.
Press your Luck
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Played once. It's a beautiful game but something doesn't make me to like it much. Have to understand what.

A very enjoyable filler. Beautiful with high production value. The game is fast and fun. It would be good for light gamers as well

Originally rated 9, but dropping to 8. It's a beautiful game, it functions well, it's pleasant to create a 'print', and I enjoy playing it. This game is a very relaxing experience and the decisions are fairly simple. However, I was disappointed that despite how light this game seems, it's actually quite tricky for non-gamers to learn. The problem, I have figured out, is that this game has so many mechanisms that are easy for people who play lots of board games but can be overwhelming to people who are new to gaming (tableau building, set collection, worker placement, drafting, etc.). I recommend playing this game with people who are transitioning from gateway games to midweight games or as filler for those who play medium-heavy games. With the former group, it will be difficult but teach them the basics for all those games, with the latter, it'll be a smooth & quick experience. My other complaint about this game is lack of variability. I can't see myself playing this game very often just because every playthrough feels exactly the same, as nearly all cards in the deck come out during a game. I still enjoy it and I'll bring it out, but only once in a while and with the right group.
