Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Not a bad quest, but quite hard and to me just not that much fun. Some decent player cards and the quest is thematic, but certainly not among my favourites.

The fifth cycle of expansions continues adding more awesomeness to Lord of the Rings LCG, in form of new heroes, cards for the decks, and new quests. The Dread Realm contains a bunch of new cards for the players decks like the new hero Arwen, or the new Spirit card Elven-Light. The scenario itself is the quite difficult but definitely balanced and a bit refreshing after the smothering difficulty of its predecessor.

Quest: An appropriate conclusion to the cycle. At some point I got weary of the constant side quests and frustrating treacheries in this cycle, but this isn’t the most extreme example from this cycle. Player Cards: Another great pack of cards with hero Arwen and her accoutrements. Good cards for Rohan, rangers and Silvans as well. Definitely happy to have these. Ratings: If I were to rate any expansions to this game in the context of board/card games as a whole, they'd get an 8,9 or 10 because they are part of a game that I give a 10 to overall. However, on a separate scale within just this game system, I'd give this a 6 for the quest and a 9 for the cards.
