Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

This scenario is very hard - one of the most difficult ones in the entire LotRCG universe. It took me many many tries to get a deck which was barely able to win 50% of the games.

Brutal, the toughest one yet, in my opinion. With the novelty of the accumulating shadow cards (yet another threat to keep in check!), as well as tremendous enemies and wicked treachery cards. Really steep from the onset too. Took me 109 attempts to beat it.

The Battle of Carn Dum is a very difficult quest that can sometimes border on frustrating. If you're not one who likes to get punched in the mouth by a quest, you might want to avoid this one. It's a fairly straight forward boss battle, with the unique aspect of it being the double-sided big boss and the fact that unused shadow cards stick around. It wasn't my favorite quest of the cycle, but there's nothing bad about it. The player cards in the pack are a solid offering with some nice pieces for Dunedain and Noldor decks. The hero Amarthiul is an interesting one, and it's the first time we've seen an FFG-created objective ally turn hero, so it's novel in that regard.
