Variable Phase Order implies that turns may not be played the same way as before and/or after.
Variable Phase Order
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Lacerda's flagship Euro. Interconnectedness and decision making are as expected for a Lacerda game. Definitely his least satisfying solo play: Vinhos Deluxe solo is imbalanced due to VP weight given to the export sub-game. Nowhere near as finely tuned as Lisboa or On Mars in that regard.

Played Jexter's game first time. Wasn't as hard as what I heard but the game itself is excellent. Would like to play it again.

A tight, tense game that isn't so much about wine MAKING but about MANIPULATING people. Sure, you might have a wine of great quality...but how do you make the judges think it matches the whims of this season's tastes? By hiring experts to hustle for you! Even the crappiest wine can win a fair if you score the right booth, and the right influencers, at the right time. Cynicism aside, this is a truly fun game. Beginner players are baffled by the fair, since it is a mini-game all of its own. In fact, much of the game is a series of mini-games that all players can compete in, leading to a large variety of strategies... ...and very few moves. Every resource is scarce. Every action makes changes the game. It's beautifully-balanced, gorgeously-produced, and a thematic brain-burner for those who like rules and number tracks and never having enough time or money to do what you want to do. LOVE IT!
