Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

I've played a lot of games of Unmatched and this set seems the weakest when going against other sets. Perhaps the characters are balanced against each other within the set (haven't really tested that theory) but for sure they lose the most out of all the characters I own. Except for Buffy, who seems to hold up pretty well. We've had to make house rules for the other 3 characters in order to keep them in the game. Otherwise no one would want to play them. But on the positive side, there are some unique concepts in the design of the characters (as is the case with all the sets so far)

Move, fight, defend, rinse and start again. No nonsense unmatched fight game for Buffy, Angel, Spike and Willow fan boys. Fan boys like me! Nothing earth shocking in this game but if you are a Buffy fan, you just got to have this. Nice, comic book like cards, nice miniatures of the protagonists.

The worst of the unmatched sets. All the characters in this set (besides buffy) are terribly uninteresting. They all just feel like redos of past characters. The maps though are great, I really like how much the colors pop, and just how they're laid out. The maps are definitely the selling point of this set.
