Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Great additions to an already amazing game! I love the reaction delver cards. The solo mode is a lot of fun. And, most importantly... PURPLE DICE!

I recommend the expansion as it adds interesting new stones with cool powers. It complicates the game slightly which is fantastic for those who think the base game is too light. But I would say, with a little patience, you could teach the game to new people with this included. I have also played the solo mode once in a two-player way, it was a really nice and relaxed way to work with someone, but the puzzle is still good!

Just went through the solo campaign and it was a pleasant experience. The game offers you with different challenges in each of the three scenarios you have to accomplish and also "The Darkness" becomes more powerful by getting more possibilities to score. It makes you take tough decisions on what would be the best move, when you can push your luck trying to win a ruin and decide which stone to give up knowing that The Darkness will have it... The expansion also adds a fifth player, new ruins, stones, delver cards and wonders giving the game even more replayability. Definitely one you should check out if you own the base game!
