Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
First scenario and my platoon already had to bring in some replacements! It's going to be a long game.
I love this game! I think the campaign element that Stalingrad added to the already fantastic gameplay of the other Undaunted games is very well implemented. I think my only gripe is that there was a little confusion about how to upgrade cards, but once I figured it out, it was smooth sailing from there!
Unfortunately, S and I are finding that the dice rolls are dictating waaay too many chapters. Will likely sell after the campaign.
