Commits a number of deck building cardinal sins; multiple currencies, market row, powerful cards worth large values of points. It does have some clever mitigation aspects - currency 2 is spent on area control/battles. Trashing cards is an important strategy. High repetition of cards. Means that you can target a strategy and pursue it. It wasn't terrible - whilst it commits many of the sins that Ascension does, its solutions work somewhat. An acceptable, if unremarkable game. Production quality is unforgivable given how much this tends to sell for.

Excellent game, one of the best deck-builder hybrids out there. The area control is elegant and deterministic, and is a viable strategy to focus on rather than a distraction. It also has a side effect of making the deck-building less frustrating as you rarely have a 'wasted' hand, leftover military points can always be used to place a few units on the board. A pleasant surprise hit for me, and breathes life into a played-out genre. Just be sure to play in bright light, as the art is an unrelenting assault of dark purples.

The only one deckbuilder that I enjoy. Really good. Above is no longer true, with Clank!, Supermotheload and Star Realms around.
