Co-operative play encourages or requires players to work together to beat the game.
Cooperative Play
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Games with partnerships offer players a set of rules for alliances and teams. Partners are often able to win as a team, or penalties are enforced for not respecting alliances
Partnerships
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.
Press your Luck

"Escort the Army" they said. Bah, I'd rather be sailing. Other than that ridiculous objective, the fully cooperative play was neat. We kinda won, but only when we realized the game was an efficiency race and not a zombicide clone. If I'm playing a zombie game, I'd rather be interacting with the zombies (Dead of Winter, Zombie 15, etc) or be trying to save myself from the terrible humans around me (City of Horror). Not playing an efficiency puzzle that happens to involve zombies.

Light zombie killing game for any amount of players (1-5). Mechanics are a bit meh, for example the game forces to move before you can do anything else (though the constant movement is the spirit of the game). But it's entertaining game with small package. Many characters and items take care of replayability. There is some game modes and cooperative/solo is easy choice for the beginning, though I think it might be too easy (you can also adjust challenge by taking two zombie cards instead of one at the setup). Playing with zombie player seems a bit "meh", but adds challenges against other players. I don't recommend competitive game mode, until there's at least 3 experienced players controlling human survivor (it feels unfair and not so competitive with 2 survivors).
