Co-operative play encourages or requires players to work together to beat the game.
Cooperative Play
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Games with partnerships offer players a set of rules for alliances and teams. Partners are often able to win as a team, or penalties are enforced for not respecting alliances
Partnerships
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.

A pretty good low cost, small footprint zombie game involving holding out in a mall against a zombie invasion. You have to not only hold out and reinforce your bunker with new supplies, but also meet three objectives before the timer deck runs out of cards (which places zombies each turn and gives you items at the same time). It is easy to get the hang of and plays quickly. First play is really fun. There are a lot of characters to mix up and a variety of mall setups, so there is no shortage of possibilities. You are ultimately solving a thematic puzzle and employing optimization. I don't know how much long term staying power it has, but due to the low cost, you'll probably get your money's worth before you reach this point.

Quality has gone downhill on the Tiny Epic series. The cheap "Trace/Pressure Stickers on the zombies were stuck to the bag and not the figure itself. Linen finish setting must have been 20% of what normal linen finishes are. 5 Stars for not bowing in to those tiny millenial cards you cannot ever see from across the table. Great. Now I have Zombie Transfer Stickers on my fingers..... Even though not counted against the score for the base game, the mats from GG are getting worse also. HLAS mats appeared to have the colors washed out and not as blue as the stock photos (I know they are photo enhanced) and have bland colors. The TEZ mat has tiny print (Victory Tables) and the lettering runs and appears blurry.

+ The feeling of being overwhelmed by surrounding forces on all sides makes survival seem like an impossibility, forcing you to make the most of every single turn; Quite a lot of replayability with this one thanks to the goals, characters, and even the store layout. - The game just looks messy when it's all laid out on the table... a necessary evil of the compact using-cards-as-a-board thing I suppose. Why it's previously-owned: There are so many other great co-op games at this point... this wouldn't really get picked other than for its being really small thing.
