Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

What a great game. As already mentioned by a lot, the components, the look and feel is awesome. So far I only played this solo, and here the game really shines. First of all it is great that you include in solo play almost the whole components of the game. But must important is the stand alone feature that the AI really feels alive and that you need to achieve a much more different goal than in most other solo modes. It is not "beat your own score" and not "gain more points as the AI"... it is to be ahead on the champion board. And this is a real challenge. The idea with Plot cards delivers a "you can not predict everything the AI will do"... and this shines further on the solo mode. A real big surprise, I am happily stunned by this game.

So much going on in this game. It's not complex but it can be a little daunting from the outset. Looks amazing and it a complete shelf hog.

Love the world and art. Setup and board space is challenging. Gameplay is a bit solo as you declare your challenge to complete and your opponents might not be interested to know. Sense of progression feels good and the rounds feel fast and the game will end before you know it. But still it takes more than 2 hours.
