Ticket to Ride: New York features the familiar gameplay from the Ticket to Ride game series — collect cards, claim routes, draw tickets — but on a scaled-down map of Manhattan that allows you to complete a game in no more than 15 minutes.

When it comes to the variance and balance, this is probably one of the better sequels to the original TtR. When comparing with the original TtR, this version offers a better balance between long and short routes, an incentive to build early instead of just hoarding cards, and a smaller map better suited for fewer players. Moreover, does not have any really counterintuitive or complex rules which helps with maintaining the game well suited for families. It also plays really fast. However, this super fast game feels a little bit too short. Collecting sets and claiming routes is fun and here it end just a little bit too early.

Fast filler version of Ticket to Ride. Fun two player experience. I can see this being a hit with new gamers/non-gamers, as even if they aren't crazy about it, it doesn't last long, and if they like it you can quickly set up a new game. We were in the perfect mood for this, wanting to fill about an hour and still get more than one game in.

Much like Ticket To Ride London, this is a small scale version of the classic game. A good introduction to the series for adults who have never played one of the mainline games in the series. Another cool aesthetic in game board and components.
