Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

This game was more thinky than I was expecting from a small box game. That said, I really enjoyed my first play! The macabre theme is kind of fun too =P.

First thing that jumps to mind is the oh so different theme, and has the exact right art style: not too cartoony, not too gory, but a bit of both. And not only that, but it's rather well integrated. The central mechanism (pay with cards, some come back) is an incredible twist on the Race for the Galaxy/San Juan "cards as money". Plus, having each card have multiple uses, defined by their state (a dead card can't be built, for example) is pretty awesome. Perfect control of what come in your hand and incentive to keep it small also has great synergy with the rest of the mechanisms.

Nice card game with a clever system. During your turn, you can chose to : - corrupt a client - you take a client on a room and add the card to your hand ; - build an extension - you put a card on the table from your hand, which gives you a special ability and provides room to bury the corpses under ; - kill somebody in the inn - you put the card face down in front of you ; - bury a corpse - you place a coffin under a building. In order to do these action, you must use cards from you hand to match the level of the card you want to corrupt/build/kill/bury. If the cards you use to pay this cost are of the same type as the action you perform, you take those cards back from your hand otherwise, you discard the cards with an unmatching symbol. Your hand represents your work force, if you ask a priest to kill somebody, he'll do that, because he's your man, but he'll leave you right after that, but if you ask him to bury a deac body, then he'll do it and stay in your team... This game requires timing to hire/build/kill then bury a body which will reward you money ! Excellent game, great design, beautiful artworks !!!
