In Teotihuacan: City of Gods, each player commands a force of worker dice, which grow in strength with every move. On your turn, you move a worker around a modular board, always choosing one of two areas of the location tile you land on: one offering you an action (and a worker upgrade), the other providing you with a powerful bonus (but without an upgrade).

A solid heavy Euro, that gives you a puzzle which both rewards planning, yet require you to stay flexible. The different tech tiles make games different from one another, in very interesting ways.

8/19 N25-GREAT worker placement game. Dice are used, but not in the conventional way. We enjoy the Aztec/Incan theme although it's pasted on. 11/19 N24-+Late Preclassic Period

This is a great medium heavy Euro. Looks overwhelming at first, but it plays very smoothly and isn't too hard to learn if you're used to this style of game. Really enjoyed my second play and leaving it at a 9 for now, although there are some things I'm not so sure about such as the flip luck with the pyramid and stair tiles, ascent speeding up the game sometimes and the relatively few but often very similar action spaces. With that said, there is something very interesting about the pipping up, combos, techs and planning out how to maximize your score. After a few more plays, this continues to hold my interest. I definitely haven't mastered the game and it remains fun to play. Now own Shadows of Xitle expansion and want to PnP a couple of the replacement boards from the Late Preclassic expansion.
