Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

This game has an interesting building mechanic to base a game on, but in the non-expanded edition, there is very little to sustain interest. I don't understand why the content of the expanded edition was given its own version of the game. It was somewhat disappointing after a few plays to realize that's all there was to the game.

While the "building the sword" gimmick to the game is pretty engaging and clever, the overall drafting mechanic is pretty lackluster and not all too creative.

Preliminary-- Uninteresting division phase, draft decision uses to be obvious and placement phase is obvious too. Nice gimmick about the sword construction, but nothing attracts me to play this game.
