Survive! is a fun game from the 80s that still holds up if you adjust your expectations a bit. Atlantis is sinking, and you all have villagers you need to get to safety at the four 'safe islands' in the corners of the map. Your villagers all have numbers printed on their bottoms which are the points you'll score should you get them to safety. Just one catch -- after you place your people for the first time, you cannot peek to see what they're worth! Meanwhile, sea monsters (serpents, whales, and sharks) that everyone can control make it harder for travelers to reach the corners. There actually isn't too much randomness here at all, but your opponents can certainly be vindictive and I can see how with a certain group the winning score might just be in the single digits. I look forward to playing this one a lot, it's exactly the sort of game I want in my collection: simple rules encouraging structured interaction between players is often a good time in my book. That said, some of the movement rules are just a tad fiddly (we got a couple wrong), and the game is best when it doesn't drag. I rate Survive! a [BGCOLOR=#9999FF] 6.0 [/BGCOLOR] for now. I could really see it being brutal and over-long, and with the wrong group I'm certain it would be miserable. However, there's some really good sparks here and I think that rating could grow over time.

You really need to be ready to forgive your friends and family with this one - ESPECIALLY if you play with the expansion.

Apesar de ser sádico e potencialmente deixar as pessoas irritadas é divertido demais ficar controlando os monstros marinhos. Um dos melhores jogos para grupos competitivos que eu já joguei.
