Head to head light-medium gaming fun. If you like magic or duelling type games, dislike deck construction and keeping up with the latest meta then this game is for you! I played a lot of 1st edition and prefer that to this 2nd edition. 2nd edition feels more casual ie move ahead and fight. + New art is coherent and less dark. I really liked most of the old art although some faction's backgrounds needed more contrast. + This game feels faster paced, less defensive than 1E ± Chunky dice are nice but melee is boosted over ranged ± Change to timing of events is good and bad – Gate art is bland these really should be eye catching and distinctive I would have chosen different colours and different gates for the factions.

The best two decks in the game. Don't care for the fold-out paper board, but a great deal if you already have the master set and you get this for the two decks, extra dice, and extra counters.

Solidly interesting dueling game, but both card drawing and dice rolling ends up being a lot of luck-based stuff happening. It still seems like your choices are more important than your luck, but I'm unsure of the balance. There's a lot of competition in dueling games, so I'm not sure how much more of this I will play, but I could see my rating improving.
