Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

This edition adds a few little modules like the wild animals that everyone needs to fight off. Otherwise it’s the same game as the original version. My rating is based on the game that I love, and being easy to teach. As for anniversary editions, winter side is nice, but it really should have upgraded bits, or something to make the anniversary edition special. If this wasn’t on of my favourite games, I would have passed on this edition.

Very light game of worker placement, where the production of these will be based on dice rolls. It seems to me that it takes longer than necessary for its simplicity. The theme is cool.

Played last night at our weekly game night. A couple of twists to the regular game with additional ways to score on cards and buildings by adding additional resources. I also liked the wild animal cards that you have to defeat as well. Can't wait to get my copy! The board is double sided so you can play either version of the game as well!
