Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Fun legacy romp, but the added cards and mechanics entirely change the viability of previous strategies while over-emphasizing the new cards.

Space Base's biggest strength is giving players enough to care about and roll that it doesn't feel like it has downtime, and Shy Pluto doubles down on that. New ship cards help with strategic diversity as well.

Very mixed review: New cards other than ones that give tokens: Excellent! Shy Pluto story: Might be fun for young children World Eater: Nah Shy Pluto: Doesn't work for lower player counts - too hard to get tokens and too little reward. Dice are too small Overall: I like having the extra cards but not at the price of the whole expansion. Update: After several plays with the expansion, I have qualms about the new cards too because gamers can set up an overpowered engine and run away with the game.
